Obtain an IP address of a friend

I am going to explain how to a very simple way to obtain someone's IP address.

1. First things first, you will need to go to the following website

2. Enter a password of your choice below "Password", this is to prevent unauthorized users from viewing the IP addresses' that you get.

3. Below "Redirect URL", enter a website you would like the link you send your customer to be redirected to.

4. Once both the text boxes are filled, click the submit button.


5. You will be given a URL, but it doesn't really look that nice does it?
So highlight the URL given to you and copy it.

7. In the text box below "Enter a long URL to make tiny", paste your URL that was provided to you in step 5

8. Below you will see "Custom alias (optional)", here you can enter a word that you feel will be suitable and attract the person you are sending the link to into wanting to visit the site (This word has to be unique and not have been used by someone else previously).


For example, if you enter the word RyanSeg the link would become

9. Click the button "Make TinyURL!"

10. You will notice 3 URL's will appear in bold, we will only need the first and second ones though. Take a note of both these URL's.

11. Now what you will need to do is go to

12. In the text box below "Link ID" you will need to get your ID, to do this you will get the first URL from Step 10 and take all the letters after ?id=

13. Enter your password from Step 2 in the text box below "Password"

14. Click the button "Submit"

15. Send the second link from Step 10 to the customer. They will open it and be redirected to the link you have chosen in Step 3.

16. In your IP Catcher Record Log, press F5, the page will refresh and your customers IP will be there. The date and time of access they pressed the link will also be displayed.
